The "Barcolana" is one of the most important traditional regattas in the Mediterranean: an Italian event every year in October in the Gulf of Trieste, in the Northern Adriatic Sea. More than a thousand boats of all types and lengths compete in this regatta, between aggressive racers and normal pleasure boats.
