Hundreds of projects sold, a very high percentage of completed buildings and unexpected qualities of versatility, governability and speed, have made this small, simple but extraordinary sailboat successful:
The Argie 15 has been designed to be a comfortable and safe dinghy for coastal trips and nautical camping. She is essentially a 3-in-1 boat, to be used under sail, rowing or with a small outboard.

The Argie 15 "Magia", built in Venice by Gianni Trevisanello
But the Argie 15 has another very important feature: thanks to the simplicity of the construction method and the rationality of its design, its construction is on the skill of many people, even non-experts: the first self-building experience, an avesome free-time work for father and son, a didactic work for middle and professional schools, sports, cultural and recreational clubs etc.
For the more experienced, the Argie 15 standard project is an extraordinary basis for making excellent customizations:
Three different customizations of deck:

the "racer", inspired by 420

with pivoting keel and a fine wood finish

with pratical lockers in the bow and on side seats, for nautical camping
Argie 15 has been designed to take full advantage of the use of marine plywood both in the building, for DIY enthusiasts, and in the lightness and strength of this material that allow easy management of the boat in all conditions of use .
Developing the standard plans, the boat will be obtained from 8 sheets of marine plywood (Okoumè 6mm). In all the sheets (2500x1220mm) the pre-cut shapes, holded to the sheet by small tabs of about 10mm that can be removed with a simple jigsaw.

The "Stitch & Glue" method has not many frames like the classic wooden boats building and, with the epoxy resins, allows to create a light but very strong structure. The weight of the bare hull, without rig and accessories, is about 60kg

Depending on the customization (seats, deck etc.), the fully rigged Argie can reach a weight of 100-120 kg, easily trailed on road with a small trailer.
Thanks to her successful waterlines and despite her appearance of rugged and calm sail dinghy, the Argie 15 revealed unexpected nautical skills, with easy glides starting at great range and the ability to tighten upwind, reaching excellent speeds at any conditions.
The large volumes of the hull, the stability of shape and a general balance of the boat that can be used by different users: solo, with a crew of two-three-four people, for sporty sailing, fishing or for a minimum and essential camping - cruising

The mast, sails and deck equipment reflect the whole philosophy of the standard project, based on maximum simplicity and countless options.
But Argie 15 always continues to amaze: for those not interested in sailing, it can also be built as a basic open boat, with outboard and console .
